One payment. The right share for everyone.
Split payments divide a parent's lesson payment between the tutoring company and the tutor, using the agreed fee or percentage. The parent pays once, while the agency's share and the tutor's share are kept clearly separate.
Illustrative 20/80 split, before any payment-processing fees or applicable VAT. Your agreement determines the split.
Less payment admin
Reduce manual calculations and separate transfers, and make it easier to see what each tutor is owed.
Clearer financial records
Keep the lesson payment, agency share and tutor share distinct for reconciliation, reporting and your accountant's review.
More transparency
Give the agency and tutor a clear breakdown of how each payment is allocated, helping prevent payment disputes.
Why this matters for tax and VAT
For an agency genuinely acting on a tutor's behalf, with the tutor supplying and invoicing the tuition to the parent, the agency's own supply for VAT purposes is generally its fee or commission service. If the company supplies the tuition itself, VAT may instead need to be considered on the full lesson charge, subject to any applicable exemption.
Keeping the two shares distinct helps document that arrangement. Splitting a payment does not itself establish agency status, reduce taxable turnover or create a VAT exemption: the contracts, invoices and how the business actually operates must support the treatment.
Some private tuition supplied by individual teachers qualifies for VAT exemption; that does not automatically exempt an agency's fees. Ask your accountant to confirm the VAT, income-tax or corporation-tax treatment for your arrangement.

Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to move my agency over?
Most agencies are running within a week. Import students, tutors and lesson history from a spreadsheet or export from your current platform, and our team handles the migration with you.
Do tutors and students need to install anything?
No. The online classroom runs in the browser on any device. Tutors and students get a link from their schedule and join in one click.
How do the DBS checks work?
You start an enhanced DBS application from a tutor's profile. The tutor completes identity verification online, and the status — including renewal dates — is tracked on their profile automatically.
Which exam boards do the learning materials cover?
GCSE and A Level content is mapped to AQA, Edexcel and OCR specifications across core subjects, with new subjects added regularly.
How accurate is the AI marking?
Written answers are marked against official mark schemes with model answers shown alongside. Tutors can review and adjust any mark, and adjustments improve future feedback.
What does it cost?
